キャサリン、ホームムービーをリリースへ

（要旨）キャサリン・ジャクソンは、マイケル・ジャクソンの生涯についての映画シリーズで彼女のホームムービー映像を使用する契約を、新しいビジネスパートナー、ハワード・マンと結んだ。TMZが報じている。

伝えられるところによると、キャサリンは数百時間のホームビデオの映像を所有しており、中にはジャクソン・ファイヴが最初のレコード契約をしてインディアナからLAに家族が引っ越している時のものも含まれている。

また、彼女の大型本「Never Can Say Goodbye」でのパートナーであるマンは、ジャクソンの元友人でビジネスパートナーであったマーク・シャフェルが所有しているマイケル・ジャクソンのビデオについての権利を購入したと報じられている。

このことについての問題は、マイケル・ジャクソン・エステートが、ジャクソンの名称や写真などのイメージを使用するための独占的権利を所有しているということだ。しかし、マンは自分の法律的立場に満足している。なぜなら、遺産の受益者－キャサリンとマイケルの子供たち－は利益を得るプロジェクト参加者だからだ。マンはTMZに対し、彼とキャサリンは映画シリーズのリリースの計画を立てていると語った。

■ Katherine To Release Home Movies
(1-7-2010) TMZ is reporting this morning that Katherine Jackson has made a deal with her new business partner, Howard Mann, to use her home movie footage in a series of movies about Michael Jackson's life.

Katherine reportedly has hundred's of hours of home video footage, including some of the family moving from Indiana to LA when The Jackson Five first signed a record deal.

Mann, her partner in the new coffee-table book, 'Never Can Say Goodbye,' is also reported to have bought the rights to more video of Michael Jackson owned by Jackson's former friend and business partner Marc Shaffel.

The problem with all of this is that the Michael Jackson estate owns the exclusive rights to market Jackson's name and image. But Mann feels comfortable with his legal position, because the beneficiaries of the estate - Katherine and Michael's children - are profiting participants in the movie project. Mann told TMZ he and Katherine plan on releasing a series of movies.

The estate would not comment at this time.
