（要旨）日曜から、日本のファンたちが、東京タワーのネバーランド・コレクション内で一夜を過ごすチャンスのために列を作ることが予想されている。

世界でここだけのオフィシャル・マイケル・ジャクソン・エキシビションの5月1日の開幕以来30万人以上の人々が、東京中心部のランドマークに集まっている。そしてこのコレクションの日本人プロモーターは、キング・オブ・ポップのゆかりの品々と一夜を過ごす機会を提供しようとしている。

「このアイディアは、西洋文化にとっては少し奇妙に思われるもしれません。しかし日本では、愛した人の命日に遺品と過ごすという伝統は重要な儀式なのです」と、東京タワーのタカムラ氏は言う。

無作為に選ばれるファンたちは、6月25日の夜、午後10:30に東京タワーの会場に入り、翌朝午前8:00までその場に居られることになる。ジャクソンゆかりの品々に囲まれた床で眠る一度きりのチャンスに彼らは1,000ドルを払う。

「彼が着た衣装、彼の家にあったもの、数え切れない受賞記念品、そして象徴的ビデオとステージセット。こういうものと一緒に一周忌を過ごすという機会は、忘れられない経験になるでしょう」と言うあるジャクソンファンは、日曜日に並ぶつもりだという。

このエキシビションのプロデューサー、マット・テイラーによれば、来場者の多くは、会場内に6時間以上滞在しているという。

(21-5-2010) Beginning Sunday, fans in Japan are expected to line up for the chance to spend one night inside the Neverland Collection at the Tokyo Tower.

More than 300,000 people have flocked to the central Tokyo landmark since the opening of the world's only official Michael Jackson exhibition on May 1 and the Japanese promoter of the collection is offering fans the chance to spend one night with the King of Pop's belongings.

"The idea may sound a bit odd to Western cultures, but in Japan the tradition of being with the remains and possessions of passed loved ones on the anniversary of their passing is an important ritual," said Hiroyuki Takamura of the Tokyo Tower.

The chosen fans, who will be selected at random, will enter the Tokyo Tower venue at 10:30pm on the night of June 25th, and will be allowed to stay until 8:00am the next morning. They will pay up to $1,000 for the one-time opportunity to sleep on the floor among Jackson's things.

"The chance to spend the anniversary of Michael's passing together with things like clothes he wore, things from his home, countless awards, and iconic video and stage sets will be an unforgettable experience," said Mamiko Morii, a Jackson fan who expects to be in line on Sunday.

Matt Taylor, producer of the exhibition, said that many who visit the exhibition end up staying inside the venue for six hours or more.

"Many Japanese fans become overwhelmed with emotion when in the presence of so many things precious to Michael and iconic to the rest of the world. People stand fixed in front of artifacts with tears streaming down their face, still trying to come to grips with losing Michael," Taylor said.
