アニメシリーズ「The Jackson 5ive」が2013年1月15日にDVDとブルーレイで発売されるとClassic Mediaが発表した。

全23話からなるこのアニメシリーズは初のリリースとなる。各話2曲ずつとともに、マイケル、ジャッキー、ティト、ジャーメイン、ランディたちと彼らのクレイジーな冒険に加わることができる。販売価格はDVD版が32.99ドル、ブルーレイ版が39ドルと報じられている。

土曜日朝のアニメシリーズ「The Jackson 5ive」は、1971年9月11日から1972年10月14日までABCで放映されたRankin/Bass and Motown Productionsの作品で、ジャクソン5のキャリアを脚色して描写したものである。このシリーズは1984年から1985年まで、マイケル・ジャクソンがソロアーティストとして人気の大波に乗っている時代にWorldvision Enterprisesを通じてシンジケーション番組としても放映された。

本作は主としてロンドンのハラス＆バチュラー・スタジオで制作されたが、一部はスペイン・バルセロナのエスタディオス・モロでも制作されている。監督はスペイン系アメリカ人のロバート・バルサーである。
■ J5 Cartoon Series To Be Released On DVD
(27-10-2012) Classic Media just announced that they will release the complete 'The Jackson 5ive' animated series on DVD and Blu-ray on January 15, 2013 ('The Jackson 5ive: The Complete Series').

For the first-time ever this complete animated series, that includes 23 full-length episodes, will be available. With 2 complete songs in each episode you can join Michael, Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, and Marlon on their crazy adventures. The retail price will reportedly be US$32.99 for the DVD and US$39.00 for the Blu-ray version.

The Jackson 5ive Saturday morning cartoon series was initially produced by Rankin/Bass and Motown Productions on ABC from September 11, 1971 until 14 October 1972. It`s a fictionalized portrayal of the careers of The Jackson 5. The series was rebroadcast in syndication through Worldvision Enterprises during the 1984–1985 Saturday morning season, a time when Michael Jackson was riding a major wave of popularity as a solo artist.

The series was animated mainly in London (UK) at the studios of Halas and Batchelor, and some animation done at Estudios Moro in Barcelona (Spain). The director was Spanish-American Robert Balser.
