キング・オブ・ポップの未発表曲から成る待望のニューアルバムの発売日がついに決定された。

シンプルに「MICHAEL」と名付けられたアルバムは2010年12月14日、マイケル・ジャクソン・エステートの協力の下、エピック・レコードより発売される。明日11月5日、www.michaeljackson.comにおいて本アルバムのティーザーが見られるようになる。そして11月8日月曜日、ニューアルバムからの「Breaking News」の全曲が、同サイト上で1週間限定で世界初公開される。

UPDATE: 本アルバムのカバーアートは画家カディール・ネルソンによって2009年に描かれたもので、キング・オブ・ポップのキャリアの中でキーとなる瞬間のいくつかを描いたものである。

エピック・レコードとマイケル・ジャクソン・エステートより昨日発表された声明は、「その製作過程はキング・オブ・ポップのために止まることは決してなかった」と言明している。さらに続けて、このカバーアートは「マイケル・ジャクソンの生涯においてキーとなる瞬間や重要人物を通じて、ファンたちを旅へ連れて出すことになるだろう」と述べている。

■ New Album Release Date Announced
(4-11-2010) The much anticipated new album of previously unreleased music from the King of Pop finally has a release date.

The album, entitled simply "MICHAEL," will be released December 14, 2010 by Epic Records in conjunction with the Michael Jackson Estate. Tomorrow, November 5th, you can see an exclusive teaser for the album on www.michaeljackson.com. Then, on Monday, November 8th, the world premiere of 'Breaking News,' a full track from the album, will stream on the site for one week only.

UPDATE: Cover art for the album is an oil painting done by artist Kadir Nelson in 2009 and portrays several key moments of the King of Pop's career.

A statement released yesterday by Epic Records and the Michael Jackson Estate declared "The creative process never stopped for the King of Pop." The statement went on to say the cover art will take fans "on a journey through some key moments and important people in Michael Jackson’s life."
